For 2 years, I worked as a movement teacher at a Waldorf school in Akron, Ohio.  I sought out ways to bring music into the gymnasium… Here is a cooperative stick dance that I developed and have used effectively to teach teamwork, cooperation… and basic math concepts.

Over the years, students have added some very interesting new moves and new dances to the Stick Dance Math Cooperative.  A couple 7th graders at Miller South School for the visual and performing arts made up this dance and I taught it to these 4th graders in Toledo.  I love the way these kids move.  Watch this….
